Indian Railway conducting competitive examination for Group 'A' , 'B', 'C' and 'D' . Recruitment of Group 'A' & ‘B’ is organized by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) & Group 'C' and 'D' is organized by 20 Railway Recruitment Boards and Railway Recruitment Cells. These are controlled by the Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRCB). 

Salary is based on post, as different Group had different salary criteria. Further list are mention below as follows:
