Gauhati University was established on 26 January 1948. This is the first university of North-East India, located in Guwahati, Assam, India. The University is situated to the west of Guwahati City and has 239 affiliated colleges. Chancellor of this University is Governor of Assam & Vice-Chancellor is Okhil Kumar Medhi.

Key Dates:

Issue of prospectus: June 27^th2013 to July 14^th 2013.

Submission of filled in application forms Last date:July, 14^th 2013(in respective department).

Entrance test date: July, 17^th , 18^th, 19^th & 20^th 2013.

   

Applying Process: Applicants can obtain application form from Gauhati University Publication Department (GUPD) & GU Information Center, WUS Building, Ambari, Guwahati-1 on payment of application fee of Rs 300/-.

Payment Mode: Payment is done either through cash or bank draft / Demand Draft.

DD (Demand Draft) in favour of the Registrar, Gauhati University and payable at State Bank of India, GU Branch.

Applicants may also send request letter to concerned university’s department by mentioning the address at the envelope, course name along with demand draft of Rs 300/- with postage stamp  Rs 35/- .
